Saleen gets into DodgeBy Chip Keen

After Steve Saleen sold and then eventually left the company that bears his name, he went into the Chinese car business for a short time.

Now Saleen has popped up again with a new company called SMS producing aftermarket versions of the new Dodge Challenger.

The company’s first project is to build a limited number of SMS 570 and SMS 570X Challengers by the fourth quarter of 2008.

In addition to engine modifications, the cars will get a reworked drivetrain and chassis along with wheel and interior upgrades. Prices are expected to start in the mid-to-high $50,000 range for the 570.
