REGINA - A proposed class-action lawsuit filed in Regina alleges Daimler Chrysler Financial Services and several affiliated companies are responsible for losing confidential client data.

The suit, filed Tuesday at Court of Queen's Bench, is being launched on behalf of four named individuals - from Saskatoon, Montreal, Winnipeg and Edmonton - and "all individuals in Saskatchewan, Canada and elsewhere whose personal information was transferred to the defendants and has been lost by the defendants," says the statement of claim.

It further alleges that a "data tape" containing confidential client information was "lost in transit" between January and May 2008, but customers weren't notified for several weeks.
