Hey Challenger Fans,

We’ve got a great chance for you to win a 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 for only $10 in a charity raffle we’ll be holding later this year to benefit the United Way here. I’ll tell you how you can enter in a bit, but first, I thought I’d share a bit about myself and where I’m from.

I’ve been employed with Chrysler for 23 years. I am an Engineer by trade but am currently working as a PQI Facilitator. We are in the process of changing the plant over to team based manufacturing. We refer to that as “SMART” manufacturing, you may be more familiar with the Lean manufacturing terminology. We like to think of it as the SMART thing to do not the Lean thing to do. As a young boy I fell in love with Mopars and never could shake it. Through all my years I have never owned anything but a Chrysler product. I am currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Howard County Automotive Heritage Hall of Fame. I do have two weaknesses; helping children’s causes and driving Mopars. I think that’s why I enjoy helping out with this charitable cause so much.

Kokomo is a great place especially if you like automobiles. Kokomo is considered the home of the first automobile built in America with the Haynes Automobile. It is also the place where Jonathan Dixon Maxwell grew up. Another automotive legend that actually led to the forming of the Chrysler Corporation. The Chrysler Corp. has actually been in Kokomo since 1937, when it took over an abandoned Haynes assembly plant for the production of its manual transmissions. In 1955 ground was broke to build the new Kokomo Transmission Plant. This plant was built to produce all the 3 speed automatic transmissions for the corporation. Currently we have 4 Chrysler plants in Kokomo, 3 automatic transmission plants and 1 aluminum die cast facility. We also provide a free huge car show open to all American vehicles displayed on KTP’s front lawn. This will be the 19th year for our annual show, it will be held August 24th, 2008.

Every year Chrysler employees at the Kokomo, Indiana facilities raise money, in conjunction with the local United Way, to provide Christmas for less fortunate children in the community. Proceeds are used to purchase clothing, coats, shoes, and toys for the children. To commemorate our 10th anniversary of this annual event we will be raffling off a new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8.
