SPX unit lands Chrysler contract

Chrysler has awarded a multiyear contract to an SPX Corp. subsidiary.

Under the agreement, Valley Forge, the professional-services brand of SPX Service Solutions, will provide service and diagnostic information for Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealerships worldwide.

SPX Service Solutions, based in Southfield, Mich., designs, manufactures and markets special-service tools, advanced diagnostic and shop equipment, and technical information for vehicle servicing and maintenance.

More than 600 Valley Forge employees work in 15 offices and client sites around the world.

Financial terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.

Charlotte-based SPX (NYSE:SPW) markets flow technology, testing and measurement equipment, thermal equipment and services, and industrial products and services.

Chrysler, based in Auburn Hills, Mich., is a subsidiary of Chrysler Holdings, which is owned by Cerberus Capital Management and Daimler AG.
