DETROIT -- Less than two weeks after being named to a new job, Chrysler LLC executive Simon Boag has been appointed to yet another job. It’s the third job Boag has held since Christmas.

Chrysler today named Boag, 42, president of Mopar and global service and parts. He replaces 31-year Chrysler veteran Chris Cortez, 53, who is retiring. Boag will report to Jim Press, Chrysler co-president.

On Jan. 3, Boag was named vice president of global alliance operations. Before that, he had been Chrysler executive vice president for procurement for seven months. John Campi replaced Boag as procurement chief on Jan. 3.

Replacing Boag as vice president for global alliance operations will be Scott Garberding, 44, who most recently had been vice president of supplier quality. Garberding will report to Tom LaSorda, Chrysler’s other co-president. He also will work with Mike Manley, executive vice president of international sales, marketing and business development.
