Soliant's Fluorex paint film has been selected for the 2008 US model year Jeep Wrangler Sahara two-door and four-door front and rear bumper cover programme.

Under the programme, Soliant is supplying the paint film as a thick sheet laminate for thermoforming. Jeep has selected bright silver metallic as the colour for the Sahara bumper covers. Based on current published industry sales information and projections, Soliant estimates that it will supply around 50,000 components per year.

Soliant claims that Fluorex paint film provides a high gloss Class A finish, outstanding stone and chip resistance, weather resistance and enhanced impact resistance. The company also states that Fluorex paint film can match any colour, including metallics and pearlescents, and has matched 1,400 different colours and finishes, including 'chameleon colours' that appear to change from different lights and angles.

Recently, the company announced that that DaimlerChrysler is using Fluorex paint film on trim components for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Lancaster, South Carolina-based Soliant offers paint films and coatings for applications in the automotive, heavy truck, appliance, recreational, consumer electronics, marine, architectural and signage industries.
