Stylists complete work on the “real” 1957 Packards, which were destined to be scrapped in favor of Studebaker-based cars built in South Bend, IN

Racer Chris Irwin makes his Formula 1 debut, driving a Brabham-Climax to a 7th place finish in the British Grand Prix - the Shannon makes its only Formula 1 appearance, but the Type SH1 driven by Trevor Taylor retires with a split fuel tank
