Jeep Compass finding its way into China

jeepcompass.jpgThe Jeep Compass will be imported into China from September 09. China Car Times has had the missgood fortune to see a Jeep Commander on the roads that were imported to China earlier this year, what can we say? What an ugly vehicle! Hopefully the Jeep Compass will look better than its boxier relative. Motoring experts in the motherland are expecting the Jeep Compass to start at around 230,000rmb (however, we think this is a direct conversion from USD to RMB and doesnt factor in the evil import tariff on foreign vehicle imports into the PRC) which is quite reasonable for an imported SUV type vehicle. The Compass will come with either a 2.0 or 2.4l motor depending on what you need for cruising those hellish smooth tarmac Chinese highways

What does China Car Times think of all this? Dont spend a wad of cash on a new Jeep, when you can take your old 10,000rmb Beijing Jeep 2020 and make it into a Jeep Wrangler with a quick brush of a welding torch.
