Jeep Commander Commanding Its Way to China

commander.jpgThe Jeep Commander is finally on its way to China in time for its official unveiling at the Shanghai Auto show later this month. The Commander was unveiled at the 2005 New York Auto Show and was put into production in early 2006. The seven seater Commander is a tiny 2 inches longer than its Cherokee brother and features a more boxy styling which actually looks better than it sounds. In the US the Commander comes with either a 3.4L V6 Power Tech engine, 4.7L V8 Power Tech engine, or finally a choice of a 5.7V8 Hemi Tech engine, so no shortage of power from these beasts. Pricing will be unveiled at the Shanghai show - no mention of if they will be built domestically via the Beijing Benz tie up or rather imported directly from the USA. If they are imported expect mega prices.
